Print and File in Person: To print and fill out your forms go to: .courtselfhelp.idaho.gov/small-claims or pick up a copy at your local courthouse. Sign and date the completed forms. Make at least two copies: 1 for you and 1 for each Plaintiff, and take them to the court where the Claim was filed.

A: Anyone (?Plaintiff?) can use Small Claims Court to sue another person or company (?Defendant?) for any reason as long as the claim is for $11,000 or less. A Small Claims Court judgment must be an amount of money; the judgment cannot order the Defendant to do something such as return personal property.

In small claims cases, a party can represent themselves, be represented by a Utah lawyer, or be represented by an employee of a company. The court can also give permission for a non-lawyer to represent someone as long as the non-lawyer is not being paid.
