You can download free, pre-built document templates with useful and creative themes from Office when you click File > New in your Office app. Templates can include calendars, business cards, letters, cards, brochures, newsletters, resumes, presentations, social media and much more.

How to Access Online Templates Select File > New to start a new document. Select a template or use the search box to find alternatives. When you find the template you want to use, select it to see a preview and description. Select Create to open the template.

Load templates or add-ins , and then select Word Options > Add-ins. In the Manage list, select Word Add-ins, and then click Go. Click the Templates tab. Under Global templates and add-ins, select the check box next to the template or add-in that you want to load.

Office templates, commonly in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\ Office Personal templates, typically in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Custom Office Templates, or OneDrive\Documents\Custom Office Templates.

If you had no folder set for default save location for personal templates, and have no Workgroup templates location set, nothing will show up when you use File > New. Setting a folder for either of these and saving templates in that folder will make it show up.

Click on File Locations - if this is greyed out you likely don't have a document open in Word. Select Workgroup templates and click Modify. Browse to the shared folder where your templates are located and click OK, keep clicking OK in each window until you are back in your document.
