Non-U.S. citizens may provide an alien registration card, U.S. state issued driver license, or passport number if Social Security number has not been issued. If either applicant has been previously married, they must provide the exact date of the last divorce, death or annulment.

It will then be recorded in the county Official Records and an official copy sent to the new couple. The fee for a marriage license is $86.00.

Couples wishing to get married in Florida may apply for a license online or in-person at one of our office locations. Both parties must apply at the same time (whether in-person at one of our locations or applying online through a video conference).

Marriage license applications are issued the same day as requested as long as all requirements are met. But there is a 3-day waiting period to be married for couples who live in Florida but do not provide proof that they have completed a premarital preparation course.

In Florida, all marriage licenses are issued at the state level; therefore, no matter where you apply or plan to hold the ceremony, all costs and wait times will be identical. Visitors can obtain one by going to any clerk of court and applying, bringing the correct form of ID as listed above.
