Though there are no officiant registration requirements in Idaho, you must be an ordained minister to be able to legally perform marriage. Local regulations in Idaho stipulate that wedding officiants under the designation of "Minister" be ordained by a religious organization, such as American Marriage Ministries.

Idaho requires your marriage license to be signed by a legal officiant, minister, judge or governor. Both people need to appear at the courthouse in person. Both need forms of photo identification. Both must have and bring a Social Security Card. One parent must be present, provide photo ID, applicant's birth certificate and sign provided documents for each applicant under 18.

The County Clerk/Recorder office can issue a marriage license the same day of application. If you are getting married in Idaho, you may obtain a marriage license from any county in Idaho, regardless of the county in which the ceremony will be taking place.
