People suffering from buyer's remorse often wonder if they are allowed to unwind the deal and take the car back. The answer is usually no, though there are some rare occasions where it might be possible. Tennessee law is clear that there is no cooling-off period for car purchases.

In Tennessee, if divorcing spouses have minor children a divorce cannot be granted for at least 90 days after the Complaint for Divorce is filed. This is referred to as a ?cooling off? period. If the parties do not have minor children, a divorce can be granted 60 days after the Complaint for Divorce is filed.

An individual may cancel an agreement before midnight of the third business day after the individual assents to it, unless the agreement does not comply with subsection (b) or § 47-18-5519 or § 47-18-5528, in which event the individual may cancel the agreement within thirty (30) days after the individual assents to it.
