Publication: You can take or send the Summons for Service by Publication to the approved newspaper. You do not need to publish the other documents you filed. Your Summons must include a summary of the case and the relief you are asking the court to order.

In both Washington and Oregon, a child can only choose which parent they'd like to live with when they turn 18 or are otherwise emancipated. Minor children are not considered capable of making such decisions for themselves and are not permitted to ?choose? living with one parent over another.

Your request for modification should be filed in the circuit court that entered the judgment you are asking the court to modify. If either party lives in a different judicial district in Oregon than the one that entered that judgment, you may request that the case be transferred.
