Ask the Circuit Clerk for copies of your court dispositions or use the public computer at the courthouse to look them up and print them out. There may be a fee to get copies of or print out your court dispositions. But you can look at them on the computer and write down the information for free.

Prove-up on Uncontested Proceedings: If you have reached an agreement with your spouse, you may appear in front of a Judge to finalize your case. This is known as a prove-up. You will contact the Clerk of the Court to obtain a prove-up date before the appropriate Judge to appear with your spouse.

And, more importantly, what can you expect on the day of prove up? A prove-up hearing is the final, mandatory step in an Illinois divorce proceeding. It is a Court date (either in person or via Zoom) in which the Judge assigned to your case looks over all of the agreements and documents and finalizes the divorce.

§ 2-203.1. Service by special order of court. If service upon an individual defendant is impractical under items (1) and (2) of subsection (a) of Section 2-203, the plaintiff may move, without notice, that the court enter an order directing a comparable method of service.
