Many Washington State courts have a public access terminal in the courthouse where you can view JIS public record case information such as an index of filed cases and a list of documents filed in each case. Contact your local court to see if they have a public access terminal.

Federal case files are maintained electronically and are available through the internet-based Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) service. PACER allows anyone with an account to search and locate appellate, district, and bankruptcy court case and docket information.

How do I get a copy of a court file? You may obtain copies via mail, make your request on the internet using the Electronic Records Request application, ECR ONLINE application or come in person. Sealed records are not available by mail or via the Electronic Records Request or ECR ONLINE application.

Copies of official transcripts already on file with the court are available through the Court Reporter, the PACER Service Center, and/or the Clerk's Office as provided in General Order No. 15-15: Availability and Redaction Policies for Electronically Filed Transcripts of Court Proceedings.
