You can view records for free at the State Archives. We also offer research services. If you supply: (1) name, (2) date of birth, death, marriage or divorce and (3) city and Oregon county, we will search the records and send you copies (se?e fees??).

Contact the local county marriage office that issued the marriage certificate to request a correction. If a county marriage office approves an amendment or correction, they request the State Vital Records Office to correct the marriage record in the statewide file. No amendment fee is required for these corrections.

You are not required to change your name when you marry. You may change your last name to your spouse's last name or combine the two last names. If you decide to do either of those, you may also change your middle name to your surname prior to the marriage.

You may purchase a certified copy of your marriage license at the time your license is issued. After the ceremony the certified copy will be mailed to the address given at the time the application was processed. You may also call the Recording Office to order a certified copy.

Divorce decrees are the legal records produced by the Circuit Court . Divorce decree records are available for public inspection unless they have been sealed by court order. Please contact Dissolution of Marriage Records at (971) 274-0570 for information on ordering copies of these records.
