It is a simple matter to move your letter. You need only to make the request that it be transferred. That is done by speaking to one of the clergy or calling the church office. The transfer then becomes a simple transaction between church offices, and you will be notified when it is completed.

The letter should be addressed appropriately to the head of the new association. You can point out anything about their association that you particularly like/admire and then lay out your reasons for wanting to join with them. Your reasons may be practical, spiritual, financial or all of those.

Respected ____(Sir/Madam), I,____ (name), am working for your company, ____(name of the organization), as a ____ (designation). With this letter, I wish to convey my request to you for a transfer at our ___(desired branch name) branch.

Answer: Request transfer of your membership from the Clerk or Pastor of the local church you are wishing to transfer to. They will initiate the process of requesting a transfer into their congregation.

The lay member does this by formally requesting that the pastor of the church to which he or she is transferring ask for the proper letter or certificate of transfer from the former church. When the letter or certificate is sent, the lay person ceases to be a member of the former local church.
