California Statement of Economic Interest for Principal Investigators is a form used by the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FNPC) to collect disclosure of significant economic interests of principal investigators on research projects funded by the state of California. Principal investigators are required to disclose the interests of themselves, their immediate family, and their related business entities. The required disclosures include information such as investments, assets, income and gifts. There are two types of California Statement of Economic Interest for Principal Investigators: Form 803 and Form 806. Form 803 is the statement of economic interests required to be filed by principal investigators on research projects funded by the state of California. The form must be filed with the FNPC by the principal investigator and by each of the principal investigator's immediate family members. Form 806 is the statement of economic interests required to be filed by principal investigators on research projects funded by the state of California and by certain non-state entities. The form must be filed with the FNPC and with the appropriate non-state entity.
