The Indiana 30353- Certificate of Assumed Business Name is a legal form issued by the Indiana Secretary of State. It is used to register a business name that is different from the legal name of the business owner or partnership. This certificate is required when a business wants to conduct business under an assumed name, or “doing business as” (DBA) name, in the state of Indiana. There are two types of Indiana 30353- Certificate of Assumed Business Name: Non-Resident and Resident. The Non-Resident Certificate is used to register a business name in Indiana if the business is registered in another state. The Resident Certificate is used to register a business name in Indiana if the business is physically located in the state. Both types of certificates must include the business's legal name, DBA name, business address, and type of business. The certificate must also be signed by the business owner or partner and notarized before it can be submitted to the Secretary of State.
