Kentucky DUI (Guilty Plea) is the charge for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the state of Kentucky. It is a criminal offense that is punishable by up to one year in jail, fines of up to $500, and license suspension. There are three different types of Kentucky DUI (Guilty Plea): 1) Aggravated DUI, 2) Standard DUI, and 3) Reckless Driving. Aggravated DUI is the most serious of the three and is typically used when the driver's BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) is .15 or higher, has been previously convicted of DUI, and/or caused an accident where another person was injured. Standard DUI is the second most serious DUI charge and is given when the driver's BAC is between .08 and .15. Reckless Driving is the least serious of the three and is typically given when the driver's BAC is below .08, but the driver still exhibits signs of impairment or has a history of DUI-related offenses. In each of these cases, the driver must plead guilty in order to receive the charge.
