ABSENTEE/MAIL BALLOT APPLICATION North Dakota Absentee/Mail Ballot Applications are used by eligible North Dakota residents who wish to vote by mail. This application allows voters to request an absentee ballot to be sent to their address for the purpose of voting in elections. There are two types of North Dakota Absentee/Mail Ballot Applications available; the first is for Absentee Voting and the second is for Military and Overseas Voting. For Absentee Voting, individuals must provide their name, address, date of birth, and social security number. The application must be signed and submitted to the local county auditor's office prior to the deadline established by the state. Once the application is approved, the voter will receive their ballot by mail. The voter must then complete and return the ballot by mail before the specified election date. For Military and Overseas Voting, individuals must provide their name, address, date of birth, and social security number, as well as their branch of service and military/overseas address. The application must be signed and submitted to the local county auditor's office prior to the deadline established by the state. Once approved, the voter will receive their ballot by mail. The voter must then complete and return the ballot by mail before the specified election date.
