New Hampshire LASER (Leadership in Academic Success Education Reform) is a comprehensive school reform program that provides students with the opportunity to experience success in college and career preparation. The program provides rigorous coursework, rigorous assessments, and advanced learning opportunities for all students. The New Hampshire LASER Admission Criteria are based on academic performance, personal and community leadership qualities, and a commitment to excellence. Admissions are based on a combination of the following criteria: 1. Grade Point Average (GPA): The student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. 2. ACT/SAT scores: The student must have achieved an ACT score of 21 or higher, or an SAT score of 1000 or higher. 3. Extracurricular activities: The student must have demonstrated a commitment to extracurricular activities such as clubs, volunteer work, or community service. 4. Personal Statement: The student must have written an essay outlining his or her interest in LASER and how he or she believes it will benefit them. 5. Interview/Portfolio: The student must have successfully completed an in-person interview and/or submitted a portfolio of their work. 6. Letters of Recommendation: The student must have obtained two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other individuals who can attest to the student's academic and personal qualities. These criteria are designed to ensure that students who are accepted to the program have demonstrated the necessary qualities to succeed in college and career preparation.
