New Hampshire Acceptance of Service is a legal document used to initiate service of process in the state of New Hampshire. It is a document that is served by the Plaintiff (the person initiating a legal action) to the Defendant (the person against whom the legal action is being taken) to inform them of the commencement of the lawsuit. The New Hampshire Acceptance of Service must be signed, dated, and notarized and then returned to the plaintiff. The Acceptance of Service document contains important information such as the name of the court, case number, parties involved, and a copy of the summons. There are two types of New Hampshire Acceptance of Service: General Acceptance of Service and Limited Acceptance of Service. General Acceptance of Service is when the Defendant agrees to accept service of the summons and complaint. Limited Acceptance of Service is when the Defendant agrees to accept only certain documents related to the case.
