The Nevada Affidavit of Publication is a document that is used to officially and publicly declare that a certain notice or advertisement has been published in a newspaper. Depending on the circumstances, the affidavit may be used to prove that a certain document or notice has been published in a newspaper for legal purposes. There are two types of Nevada Affidavit of Publication: 1) General Affidavit of Publication and 2) Special Affidavit of Publication. The General Affidavit of Publication is used when a notice or advertisement needs to be published one time in any newspaper of general circulation. The General Affidavit of Publication must be filled out by an employee of the newspaper in which the notice or advertisement was published. This affidavit is typically used for legal notices such as probate notices, foreclosure notices, or notices of public hearings. The Special Affidavit of Publication is used when a notice or advertisement needs to be published multiple times in any newspaper of general circulation. The Special Affidavit of Publication must also be filled out by an employee of the newspaper in which the notice or advertisement was published. This affidavit is typically used for public announcements such as invitations to bid on public projects or requests for proposals. Both types of Nevada Affidavit of Publication are legally binding documents and must be completed in accordance with Nevada state law.
