Ohio Safety Management Self Assessment (OS MSA) is an online tool created by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) to help employers assess the safety of their workplace. OS MSA is designed to help employers evaluate their current safety practices, identify areas of potential risk, and to develop a plan to improve their safety culture. OS MSA consists of four modules: Risk Assessment, Safety Incentive Program, Safety Leadership, and Safety Program. The Risk Assessment module helps employers assess the safety risks associated with their workplace, by examining the safety practices, environment, and equipment. The Safety Incentive Program module helps employers create a program to motivate employees to practice safe behaviors. The Safety Leadership module helps employers develop a program to ensure that safety is a priority in their organization. The Safety Program module helps employers create and maintain an effective safety program. There are three levels of Ohio Safety Management Self Assessment: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze level OS MSA provides employers with basic safety management tools, Silver level OS MSA provides employers with more advanced safety management tools, and Gold level OS MSA provides employers with the most comprehensive safety management tools.
