Oklahoma Prevention of Performance (OPP) is an evidence-based, comprehensive prevention program designed to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOM) among adolescents and young adults in Oklahoma. OPP is a multi-component, school-based program that combines classroom-based instruction, parent involvement, and community outreach and engagement. The primary components of OPP include: 1. Classroom-Based Instruction: This component focuses on providing youth with knowledge, skills, and attitudes to reduce risk of ATOM use through evidence-based curricula. 2. Parent Involvement: This component works to strengthen the parent-child relationship by providing parents with resources and supports to help them create a home environment that encourages healthy choices and reduces the risk of ATOM use. 3. Community Outreach and Engagement: This component focuses on engaging community members, organizations, and media partners to create an environment that supports a prevention-focused Scot-free lifestyle. OPP is designed to reduce ATOM use and its associated consequences in the short-term and the long-term by increasing knowledge and skills, reinforcing positive attitudes and beliefs, and engaging the community to create an environment that supports Scot-free living.
