The South Carolina Federal Records Center 2000 is a secure facility located in Columbia, South Carolina, that provides storage and access to federal records. The Center is operated by the National Archives and Records Administration and is one of eleven regional archives around the United States. The Center provides archival services for records of federal agencies from South Carolina, North Carolina, and parts of Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. The facility offers two different types of storage services: short-term and long-term. Short-term storage is available for up to two years, while long-term storage is available for records that have been determined to have permanent value.
