These claims are filed in order to collect fees and costs that are associated with representing the parents in TPR cases. These fees and costs may include court costs, travel expenses, expert witness expenses, deposition costs, and other administrative costs. In Tennessee, the court may award attorney fees for Gals or attorneys representing parents in TPR cases from the state’s Child Support Enforcement Program when appropriate.
