Texas Notification of First Temporary Income Benefit Payment provides a one-time emergency payment to qualifying households in Texas who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. There are two types of Texas Notification of First Temporary Income Benefit Payment: (1) a direct payment to eligible households of up to $1,200 per household, and (2) an additional payment of up to $500 per child. To qualify, households must meet certain income requirements. Households must have an annual income at or below 80 percent of the state’s median income. Eligible households must also meet certain other criteria, such as having at least one child or being pregnant at the time of application. Additionally, the household must have experienced a reduction in wages or job loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Notification of First Temporary Income Benefit Payment is administered by the Texas Workforce Commission.
