Unanimity of Theory is an approach to knowledge and understanding that is based on the idea that all theories should be accepted and respected as equally valid. This view is distinct from the traditional approaches of scientific and philosophical reasoning, which typically prioritize one theory as being “right” or “true”. Instead, Unanimity of Theory suggests that all theories deserve to be considered and respected, and that valid and useful understanding can be gained from multiple perspectives. There are two main types of Unanimity of Theory: Relativistic Unanimity and Absolutist Unanimity. Relativistic Unanimity suggests that all theories must be respected, but that each theory is limited to its own specific context. Absolutist Unanimity, on the other hand, suggests that there is a single, absolute truth that must be sought after and all theories should be evaluated in relation to this ultimate truth.
