Conspiracy or Deprive Person of Civil Rights is a criminal offense in which an individual or group of individuals conspire to deprive another of their civil rights. This can include rights under the U.S. Constitution, such as the right to freedom of speech, religion, or the right to due process of law. Examples of civil rights violations include police brutality, voter suppression, and racial discrimination. The two main types of Conspiracy or Deprive Person of Civil Rights are Deprivation of Rights under Color of Law and Conspiracy Against Rights. Under Deprivation of Rights under Color of Law, an individual or group of individuals conspire to willfully deprive another of their civil rights. This type of violation is often seen in cases of police brutality and racial discrimination. In Conspiracy Against Rights, an individual or group of individuals conspire to impede or interfere with the exercise of another's civil rights. This type of violation is often seen in cases of voter suppression, as individuals are prevented from exercising their right to vote. In either case, Conspiracy or Deprive Person of Civil Rights is a serious offense and is punishable by up to ten years in prison.
