Enticement of a Minor is a crime in which an adult solicits, or attempts to solicit, a minor for sexual activity, often in exchange for money or other benefits. It is a form of human trafficking and a serious offense in the United States and many other countries. There are two types of Enticement of a Minor: Aggravated Enticement of a Minor and Simple Enticement of a Minor. Aggravated Enticement of a Minor is a felony offense and occurs when an individual knowingly entices, coerces, or persuades a minor to engage in sexual activity by offering them money or other incentives. Simple Enticement of a Minor is a misdemeanor offense and occurs when an individual attempts to entice, coerce, or persuade a minor to engage in sexual activity without offering any money or other incentives. In both cases, the offender can be charged with Enticement of a Minor. The penalties for such an offense can vary from state to state, but typically include jail time, hefty fines, and being required to register as a sex offender.
