Controlled Substances — Possession with Intent to Distribute is a criminal offense in which an individual is found to be in possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell, barter, or otherwise transfer the substance to another person or persons. Depending on the jurisdiction, different controlled substances may be classified as illegal or illicit drugs, or simply as controlled substances. Possession with Intent to Distribute can be a misdemeanor or felony, depending on the amount of drugs finds in possession and the type of drug. Types of controlled substances that can be possessed with intent to distribute include but are not limited to: narcotics, depressants, stimulants, hallucinogens, and anabolic steroids.
