All unmarried first-year students, or transfer students not transferring 30 credit hours or more, who are not residing with their parents inside a 50-mile radius of the main campus, are required to live in the residence halls during their first academic year.

If you cancel after the deadlines ? and remain enrolled at ISU ? you will incur the following penalties: 50% of the remaining fall and spring value of your current housing assignment.

Family Housing Leases can be cancelled for any reason at any time while the lease is active by submitting a Contract Cancellation Request through the MyHousing portal.

September 1 is the deadline to cancel for a $350 fee. After September 1 contract holders will be held rent responsible until a replacement is found, or unless otherwise notified.

There is a $250 cancellation fee if you choose to cancel your housing application after you have signed the contract.

There is no requirement for any student to live in on-campus housing. Any eligible ISU student may sign an on-campus housing contract.

To start the termination request process, log onto the Housing Gateway and complete a 2022-23 Housing Termination Request PowerForm online, located under ?Other Tasks?. Termination requests submitted after the start date of the contract are subject to approval from Student Housing and require documentation.

There is a $75.00 processing fee for all contract cancellation requests. For the Residence Halls and Campus Apartments, your Housing Contract and all financial obligations related to it are effective for the entire academic year.
