5.06 Job Titles refer to the standardized occupational titles used by the United States Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to classify and categorize positions in the federal government. These job titles are organized into five levels, from entry-level to executive, and are used to classify positions in all federal agencies. The five levels of job titles are Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8, and Grade 9. Grade 5 job titles generally refer to entry-level positions, such as clerks, assistants, and technicians. Grade 6 job titles refer to positions with more responsibility, such as supervisors, managers, and directors. Grade 7 job titles refer to mid-level positions, such as analysts, economists, and engineers.
