A Washington Impound Petition is a legal document used to request the release of a vehicle impounded by law enforcement in the state of Washington. The petition must be filed with the court in the county where the vehicle was impounded. There are two types of Washington Impound Petitions: an Administrative Petition and a Judicial Petition. An Administrative Petition is filed directly with the law enforcement agency responsible for to impound, while a Judicial Petition is filed with the court. Both types of petitions must include information regarding the reason for the impoundment, such as the owner’s failure to pay a parking ticket or other violation, or evidence of illegal activity. The petition must also include evidence of ownership of the vehicle, such as a registration or title, and a valid driver's license. If the court grants the petition, the vehicle will be released to the owner upon payment of an administrative fee.
