The Washington Model Accredited Investor Exemption Uniform Notice of Transaction (WANT) is a form used by businesses in Washington State to exempt securities transactions from registration when selling to accredited investors. This form is required for all securities transactions when one or more of the purchasers is an accredited investor, as defined by state securities laws. The WANT is a uniform notice that must be filed with the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) for each transaction. The WANT includes the company's name, contact information, the type of securities being sold, the amount of the transaction, and other relevant information. There are two types of WANT: the Exemption Notice, which is used when the issuer has a reasonable basis to believe that the purchaser is an accredited investor, and the Exemption Notice with Representation, which is used when the issuer has a reasonable basis to believe that the purchaser is not an accredited investor.
