The Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Provider Initiative is a state-wide initiative designed to support and promote breastfeeding in the early childcare setting. The initiative aims to provide resources, training, and education to child care providers in order to increase the number of breastfeeding-friendly childcare providers in the state. The initiative also seeks to create an environment that is supportive of breastfeeding mothers and their children. There are two levels of the Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Provider Initiative. The first is the Basic Level, which includes providing information on breastfeeding basics to all child care providers, creating a supportive breastfeeding environment, and promoting breastfeeding-friendly practices. The second is the Advanced Level, which includes helping child care providers develop, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding policies and practices, providing breastfeeding-related education and resources, and helping to create a lactation-friendly physical environment. Both levels of the Wisconsin Breastfeeding Friendly Child Care Provider Initiative provide support to breastfeeding mothers and their children, and help child care providers create a breastfeeding-friendly environment.
