A violation of this Florida law requires employers to inform employees of their schedule information and report this information to FL Department of Human Services upon request. If the employee requests this information at the time he or she begins work with the employer, the employer must report on the first day of employment. A second request is required by a subsequent request made within 5 days from the first request. If the employee receives a request for this information after working at the business for more than 5 days, the employer must report the information again within 5 days of that request. Florida Work Overtime and Compensation Florida Overtime Pay: Overtime is defined as any time not counted against the daily hours of employment. For example, it does not count work performed for the purpose of paying for the worker's lunch breaks or the cost of time to make the initial work trip.
