The Miami-Dade Department of Business and Professional Regulation (BPR) oversees the licensing, registration, and examination process of licensed professionals in Miami-Dade County. As part of their work at BPR, the Miami-Dade Department of Health and Human Services will review all applications, make any necessary revisions and adjustments, and send a report to the Department that indicates compliance. Determinations are then made whether an individual is permitted to practice. The Department can deny an application or place a person on probation. In order to obtain the required license to perform a medical occupation in Miami-Dade, you must pass the Medical Exam (“Medical Exam 1”) and obtain a Miami-Dade license (“Licensed Professional 1”).
