Most countries require pets to arrive with a health certificate (also called an international health certificate, a veterinary health certificate, a veterinary certificate, or an export certificate). You must verify the country requirements each time you plan to travel with your pet.

If you do not have the health certificate for the country your pet is traveling to, you can find it at the Pet Travel Store. Your accredited veterinarian will complete the form including vaccination information and reflect that your pet is parasite-free and in good health.

Most airlines also require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) issued within 10 days of travel. Federal regulations require pets to be at least 8 weeks old and they should be weaned at least 5 days before flying. Talk to your veterinarian about feeding schedules.

Japan will honor 3 year rabies for entry purposes. After arrival, all pets must be vaccinated annually. If microchipped BEFORE 1st rabies, FAVN can be drawn same day or after 2nd rabies vaccine.
