Histopathology and Immunohistochemistry Submission Guidelines. Tissue samples should be submitted in 10% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) in non-breakable plastic containers. The ratio of formalin: tissue should be at least 10 parts NBF to 1 part tissue.

Specimen Identification Specimens for histological examination must be clearly labeled with the patient's name and date of birth or MRN and must be submitted with a completed histopathology requisition.
