What is an export declaration (EX-1)? The original stamped export declaration is forwarded to the sender, which allows the sender to sell the goods without paying VAT. At the same time, this allows the buyer of the goods to avoid paying VAT when leaving the EU.

An EX-A document is an export document which is required when a shipment, that has been originated in the EU (or has been Customs cleared in the EU), leaves the European territory. So it is about goods which will not be returned to their origin.

Export declaration (EX1) The export declaration is required when the goods are exported from the European Union (EU). Exporting goods from the EU yuou may apply a zero VAT rate for goods.

EX1 is a document issued for the goods produced and sold from the EU. Having an ex1 document helps to trade goods without paying VAT.

When goods need to be exported outside the European Union, you need an EX-A document. An EX-A document is an export document which is required when a shipment, that has been originated in the EU (or has been Customs cleared in the EU), leaves the European territory.

Seller must organise everything; Customs, Transit, EX1, T1 the lot. Please note that if you sell under DDP you will need to submit export entry, arrange haulage and insurance but most importantly you must also submit import declaration and pay the customs duties at the destination country.
