Public Assistance (PA) is FEMA's largest grant program providing funds to assist communities responding to and recovering from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President.

For the purposes of efficiency, FEMA has established four categories of damage that an impacted home may fall within: destroyed, major, minor, or affected.

The Program Delivery Task Force Leader manages operational objectives and priorities; tracks/reports progress of subordinate activities to include coaching, managing/monitoring workloads assigned; and oversees all customer service elements of Public Assistance to grant recipients.

Their purpose is to support local governments by facilitating problem solving, improving access to resources, and fostering coordination among state, tribal, territorial and federal agencies, nongovernmental partners, and stakeholders.
