Get Commercial Packing List

As per India's Foreign Trade Policy, it is one of the mandatory documents required for the export of goods from the country. A freight forwarder or C&F agent relies on this to prepare the bill of lading and the documentation required for customs clearance.

A packing list itemizes the contents of each package (box, pallets, etc). It includes weights, measurements and detailed lists of the goods in each package. The packing list should be included in carton or package, and can be attached to the outside of a package with a copy inside.

The packing list provides the exporter, the international freight forwarder, and the ultimate consignee with information about the shipment. This list also includes details about how the shipment is packed and the marks and numbers that are noted on the outside of the boxes.

Total Price: Total order amount is another piece of information that should not be stated on the packing list. Discount Information: Any discount amount or percentage should not be written on the packing list. Commissions: Any commission amount or percentage should not be shown on the packing list.

The packing list is sent to the receiver of the goods, or consignee, while the commercial invoice is sent to the party responsible for the payment of the goods. These may be one and the same or different.
