Baptists are those who believe that only those who have declared faith in Christ should be baptized. Presbyterians are those who believe that those who have declared faith in Christ as well as infants born into Christian families should be baptized.

Some of the principles articulated by John Calvin are still at the core of Presbyterian beliefs. Among these are the sovereignty of God, the authority of Scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers.

—The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)' s statement of faith says God through Jesus Christ delivers followers "from death to life eternal."

What they mean is that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe.

Presbyterians do not believe that sins can be graded this way. Sin is sin. Forgiveness is God's free gift in Christ. Confession and assurance of pardon are not what enables God to forgive us, but rather what enables us to recognize or feel or experience that we are forgiven.
