The present emphatic tense is formed by adding the basic present form of the verb to the present tense of the verb to do (do or does). The past emphatic tense is formed by adding the basic present form of the verb to the past tense of the verb to do (did).

The emphatic form of a verb adds emphasis to the past or present tense by using do/did with the present tense of the verb. I brought a book to read ( simple past). I did bring a book to read ( did + present tense). I like reading (simple present).

The emphatic form is made using the auxiliary verb do with the base form of the verb. Example: “I don't owe you any money.” “No, ing to the terms of our agreement, you do owe me money.”

A proof always has to be a part of something that has already happened. Therefore, emphatic tense is defined for past & present (actions in present perfect tense have already happened) but not for future tense.

Each of the six tenses has a progressive form, made by using the same tense of the verb be with the present participle. Future progressive will be jumping These tenses show action that begins and is in progress before another action occurs in that time. The emphatic form of a verb gives special force to the verb.

We add "do" or "does" to the verb's basic present tense to get the present emphatic tense. For example, "I do work at the art gallery" or "Jack does exceedingly well in horse riding." To obtain past emphatic tense, we add the past tense of the verb "do," which is "did," to the present tense of a particular verb.

The present, past, and future tenses are called simple tenses.
