U1 Form can be obtained from the employment service or social security institution in which you are currently insured for unemployment benefits. It is your right to ask for U1 Form but its submission is not compulsory.

What is a PD U1? The PD U1 is required in order to apply for unemployment benefits in an EU-country. It provides information on how long you have worked in Switzerland and on your pay level. It is issued by the Swiss Unemployment Insurance Fund.

What is a PD U1 form? The 'PD U1 Form' lists the periods in which you worked as an insured employee in the EU/EEA or Switzerland. This is important as your employment history in these countries counts towards your general employment history and will affect your chances of receiving an unemployment benefit.
