Business gives individuals an opportunity to express themselves in meaningful and creative work, allowing them to fulfill their God-given potential. External: Business creates products and services that benefit the community and meet the needs of the world. For Christians in business, profit is not the ultimate goal.

Business plays a crucial role in the economy by providing goods and services, creating jobs, and driving innovation. It also contributes to society by supporting communities and promoting social and economic development.

Business is the source of employment. It creates employment opportunities for a large number of people in any country. Various types of employees are required both in management and technical jobs of business. The development of industry and commerce is helping to solve the employment problems of the nation.

Business is the principal engine of economic growth, employment creation and prosperity, the vehicle for improving living standards and quality of life, not just for individuals but for entire societies.

Van Duzer proposes that God's purpose for business is twofold: firstly, to provide meaningful work for humans to express their God-given creativity; and secondly, to create valuable goods and services so that we can build a fruitful, flourishing society[vii].

Jeff Van Duzer (JD, Yale Law School) is provost of Seattle Pacific University after previously serving twelve years as dean of the School of Business and Economics and professor of Business Ethics and Business Law.

Business significance is the answer to the question, “What is your purpose on earth?” Certainly profit is important; without profit there is no survival, and without survival there is no opportunity for significance. But significance extends beyond profit.

At SPU, everything we do is rooted in faith. Our faith in Christ propels us to have faith in our students, in community, in challenging ourselves, and in impacting the world for the better. Our faculty come from a wide variety of Christian traditions, including Greek Orthodox, Baptist, Catholic, and Free Methodist.
