The health and safety code is the section of California statutory law that addresses health, safety, health care, environmental law, and narcotics. Children 6 months through 8 years of age may need 2 doses during a single flu season. Everyone else needs only 1 dose each flu season. Live, attenuated influenza vaccine (called “LAIV”) is a nasal spray vaccine that may be given to non-pregnant people 2 through 49 years of age.

You should get a flu shot before the flu starts spreading where you live. Fall is the best time to get your yearly shot. If possible, get the shot by the end of October. You can get your flu shot in many doctor's offices.
