The Little League Baseball Division (also known as the Major Division) is for boys and girls ages 9 -12. A local league may choose to limit its Major Division to 10-, 11- and 12-year-olds, or 11-12-year-olds. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

The draft rotation follows the reverse order of finish from the previous season, with the last place team's manager receiving the first pick, then the second-to-last place team, and so on, or the managers draw numbers to determine who will select the first player.

With a new, modern look and a modernized communication approach, Little League International hopes that the new brand and modernized logos will encourage new players and volunteers to join the Little League program while remaining true to the values that this organization was founded upon.

To get there, teams of 11- and 12-year-old players will compete in division competition. International representatives will be determined by the end of July. In addition to the start of United States competition, Canada's champion will be determined in tournament play beginning Aug. 1.

Inspired by Carl Stotz's original keystone sketch, the new Little League emblem is a modern interpretation of the heritage of Little League. Its structure has been streamlined for flexibility across all media, as well as to represent all Baseball, Softball, and Challenger leagues equally.

One league must host the combination, while other leagues involved participate in the combination. Host leagues must charter the actual number of teams, and participating leagues must charter one team each. This option is often used by leagues in which there are not enough players to field a team.

The new, primary Little League® logo is made simply of two colors, red and blue. Together, these two hues represent our organization on many levels.

The method of selecting a Tournament Team is to be determined by the local league Board of Directors. While methods vary, Little League recommends multiple groups within a local league participate in a fair selection. These groups may include players, league officers, team managers, team coaches, and volunteer umpires.

The Official Shoulder Patch affixed to the uniform prevents confusion in public identification, especially in news images that reference Little League programs. Little League International has established a new, unified patch that reflects all levels of the program.
