Prospective students who have reached the age of 45 years qualify for open admission or mature age exemption without any schooling qualification. The student must, however, still obtain a Certificate of Conditional Exemption from the Matriculation Board.

7. How much do I pay for an exemption certificate? The standard application fee for 2022 is R700. 00 and is a non – refundable fee.

It takes at least three(3) months to receive a response from Unisa after an applicant has successfully submitted his or her application. Make sure the contact details (cell or phone numberer and email address) you provided to Unisa during the application process are still working and active all day.

A certificate of exemption is issued on application to prospective students who have obtained a Senior Certificate without endorsement or equivalent foreign school-leaving qualification, who meet the requirements of the published regulations and wish to pursue first-degree studies at a South African university.

10.24 All students who apply for exemptions must pay a non-refundable administrative fee of R250. 00 per application.

Who Can Apply for a UNISA Credit Exemption? Anyone who is registered for a formal qualification at UNISA. The credits you need must be for the same course you register for at UNISA. You can't be registered for a NDP (non-degree purposes) qualification and get credits.
