You should ask for a form SSA-7004-PC, Request for Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement, from your local Social Security Office or visit their website(external link).

For the year 2023, annuitants who retired under CSRS will receive 8.7 percent increase and those who retired under FERS will receive a 7.7 percent increase.

To determine your length of service for computation, add all of your periods of creditable service, then eliminate from the total any fractional part of a month (less than 30 days). Depending on the category of retire ment benefits you receive, your benefit may be reduced as described in the Retirement Options section.

(SF-3107), Application for Immediate Retirement (FERS) SF-3107-2, Spouse's Consent to Survivor Election This form is only required if you do not elect the full survivor benefit for your current spouse. It should be included with the (SF-3107) (SF-2818), Continuation of Life Insurance Coverage.

SF 2806s/ SF 3100s are sent to OPM when an employee separates from an agency or changes payroll offices. SF 2806/ SF 3100 for the retiring employee's final period of service is submitted with the retirement package.

Generally, your FERS benefit is 1% of your “high-3” average salary multiplied by your years and months of service. If you were at least age 62 at separation and had at least 20 years of service, your annuity is 1.1% of your “high-3” average salary multiplied by your years and months of service.
