A transcript is an official document that records a student's academic progress. These documents are only generated and released upon the request of the student. Official transcripts are issued on security paper, or in a secure electronic format, and cannot be faxed.

Transcripts are charged by the folio (which consists of 72 words) and range from £0.74 to £2.30 per folio.

To obtain a copy of your High School Transcript, contact the school district from which you graduated. Enclose a certified check or money order payable to the New York State Education Department: $4.00 for a copy of a transcript (only passing transcripts result in a diploma) $10.00 for copy of diploma and transcript.

You can apply for a transcript of a court or tribunal hearing if the hearing was recorded. The court can refuse to provide part or all of a transcript (for example, if details of the hearing are confidential).
