Through the Adopt-A-Tree program at Queens Botanical Garden, you may choose one of the many established trees available throughout the Garden to commemorate your loved one, colleague, or special event for a donation starting at $5,000.

A gift of $500 will help plant a sapling. You or the person you are honoring will receive a beautiful certificate with the date of the gift. Wherever you see saplings in the Park, you will know your special one is among them.

If you are a property owner, you can have a tree planted on your street for free! Submit a Service Request through our tree service request system or by calling 311. After making your request, you will receive an identification number to track its status. All requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Forestry Division will help you select a location and tree species. You can also make a donation to have a Tree Guard with an engraved plaque installed around a street tree bed. You can ask the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to plant a tree, free-of-charge, on the sidewalk in front of a home, apartment building, or business. Officials will inspect the location and schedule it for planting if it is appropriate for a tree.

About. No work may be performed on or within 50 feet of a street tree without a Tree Work Permit from Parks & Recreation. Any person, business, or contractor wishing to remove or perform work on or within 50 feet of a tree on New York City property is required to obtain a permit from Parks & Recreation.

Donations of $5,000 and above are acknowledged with the selection of an existing mature tree in the Park as guided by our expert staff and a granite paving stone at the southern end of Literary Walk, mid-Park at 66th Street. A gift of $500 will help plant a sapling.
