The scholarship may be awarded for a total of four academic years of undergraduate study, provided the recipient maintains at least a 2.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and completes 24 semester credit hours (or equivalent) per academic year.

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be an Arkansas resident for at least 12 months prior to enrollment and receive at least a 19 on the ACT. To maintain eligibility, students must keep a 2.5 GPA.

Those scholarships are renewed automatically, provided you meet the continuing eligibility requirements by the end of spring semester. The colleges let us know who has met those requirements.

Be an Arkansas resident (at least 12 months prior to enrollment and a US citizen/lawful permanent resident) Be accepted for admission at an approved institution of higher education in a program of study that leads to a baccalaureate degree, associate degree, qualified certificate, or a nursing school diploma.

Competitively awarded. Deadline: April 1 for fall semester and October 15 for spring semester.

Funded in large part by the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship is available to students regardless of their academic status, whether just graduating from high school, currently enrolled in college, enrolling in college for the first time, or re-enrolling after a period of time out ...

To maintain eligibility, students must keep a 2.5 GPA, take 30 hours each year and be an Arkansas resident for 12 months prior to enrollment. Lottery proceeds also fund workforce training opportunities through the Arkansas Workforce Challenge Scholarship.

If sufficient funding is available, up to two hundred fifty (250) new Governor's Distinguished Scholars awards may be awarded each year.
