The official name of the organization is the National FFA Organization. The letters “FFA” stand for Future Farmers of America.

A foster family agency (FFA) is defined as any organization engaged in the recruiting, certifying, and training of, and providing professional support to, foster parents, or in finding homes for placement of children for temporary or permanent care who require that level of care as an alternative to a group home.

The American Star in Agricultural Placement is awarded to the FFA member with the top agricultural placement supervised agricultural experience in the nation. The member must demonstrate outstanding achievement, active FFA participation and an exemplary scholastic record.
